Prophetic Poetic Singing With a Difference? Yes it Is!

It was only the other evening that I was working my way through the various categories at EzineArticles when I saw there was a place for poetry. I was totally unaware that poetry was permitted. Now, do read on, because this is different. Normally I write on biblical and Christian themes and on this occasion I have not moved away from that priority in my writing. Not really!

When Paul preached and wrote, he frequently turned to the prophet Isaiah.

What a man! What men! Paul and Isaiah! These were two outstanding men of God.

Almighty God told Isaiah that he would prophesy and proclaim His word to His chosen people over many years, but hardly anyone would pay attention. You can find that in Isaiah Chapter 6, and very few people go right on to read the second half of the Chapter.

This came true, as Israel soon tired of what God revealed to Isaiah.

Imagine God choosing a man and calling a man and raising up a prophet, strategically placing him in the nation, for him only to be ignored and rejected.

One day Isaiah decides to sing his Request prophetic word message in the streets of Jerusalem, in an attempt to reach the people. Isaiah sang a love song.

Now, everyone loves a love song. A crowd gathered. This was different. This was attractive and entertaining, until he explained the meaning of his profound and piercing love song.

Recently, another type of prophetic song tumbled out of my pen. Read it below.

Jesus loves you – this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
If you do not turn from sin,
The gates of heaven won’t let you in.

Jesus loves you, I can tell
He came down to save from hell.
But from sin if you don’t turn,
In hell’s flames, you’ll surely burn.

Jesus loves you – He will give
Eternal life that you may live.
But if you will not believe,
You to judgement He will leave.

A wise man always gives heed to the prophetic word.
